Financial Analyst - Toronto, ON

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for
preparation of operational and financial reports, detailed analysis and interpretation of data with respect to business performance and results, understanding of software reporting capabilities, as well as assisting with forecasting, budgeting, communicating finance issues to the business and continuously improving the reporting and business processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Timely and accurate preparation of periodic operations and financial reports
· Perform extensive statistical, cost and financial analysis of data
· Prepares narrative analysis of data for management
· Track financial performance of projects through entire financial cycle
· Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis
· Ensure financial policies and procedures are adhered to and that reporting standards are applied consistently
· Develop and/or prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required
· Provide financial advice and support to achieve corporate objectives
· Assist in strategic financial planning and the annual budget process
· Collaborate with IT on fulfilling business reporting requirements using internal software applications
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- University Degree and/or College diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Financial Management or related area
- Minimum 3 years experience in Financial Analysis, Accounting and/or Auditing
- CMA, CA or CGA designation
- Strong analytical, financial reporting and accounting skills
- Attention to detail and high level accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with Great Plains or other accounting and business software
- Proficiency in Excel and Outlook
