TOPSIM® – General Management Business Simulation

Employees at all levels in an organization today need a higher level of business acumen; they need to know “how business operates”. TOPSIM® – General Management is a strategic management simulation that leverages the experience of participants and establishes links between management theory and business practice.  It covers all the areas of a corporation including Procurement, Production, Human Resources, Research & Development, Marketing and Sales. Other topics covered in the simulation include product life cycle, employee competence, productivity, reengineering, corporate identity, share price, and shareholder value-oriented management.

     All managers and management trainees

     Any employees requiring a higher degree of business acumen, knowledge or expertise, including:

      Sales professionals

      Project Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers

      HR, R&D, Production, Finance and Administration

Participants in the simulation take on the task of managing all aspects of an organization.  Working in teams, learners are required to make a series of decisions based on the information provided, apply identified methods, and handle uncertainty and time. 

 

A total of 5 periods (each period is equal to one year) can be simulated, and up to 56 decisions per period can be made by each team.

 

The simulation can be run with between 9 and 20 participants, and is available in both English and French.

Configuration options

The simulation is highly configurable for different levels of complexity and sophistication, allowing for either one or two products to be sold in up to two markets representing foreign and domestic markets.

 

The default duration of this simulation is two days, consisting of five decision periods. The simulation is also available in a three-day version.
