Enterprise Virtualization Using Microsoft Hyper-V (M6422, M6331)
This course is not currently offered by Global Knowledge. Information here is provided for reference only.
In this instructor-led course, you'll learn how to implement and manage Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V with System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM). You'll cover advanced topics, such as using storage virtualization, high availability, SCVMM Performance and Resource Optimization (PRO), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and PowerShell, and you'll get an introduction to the free Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 product and learn how to manage Hyper-V on a Server Core platform.
Along with our proprietary content, this course incorporates materials from the Official Microsoft Learning Products 6422: Implementing and Managing Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V V and 6331: Deploying and Managing Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
What You'll Learn
- Install and configure Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V
- Create and manage virtual machines on the Hyper-V server
- How to configure the Hyper-V server to ensure high availability
- Monitor the performance of the Hyper-V server
- Migrate existing Physical (P2V) and Virtual (V2V) virtual machines to Hyper-V server
- Use SCVMM to manage Hyper-V servers through the enterprise
- Use PowerShell to manage the Hyper-V and the VMs hosted on the Hyper-V server
- Implement SCVMM Intelligent Placement
- Utilize the SCVMM Self-Service Portal
Who Needs to Attend
- Windows Server 2003/2008 system administrators who manage and implement server virtualization technologies within their network
- Enterprise system architects who plan enterprise server resources with an emphasis on server consolidation
Prerequisites
In addition to your professional experience, you should have technical knowledge in:
